VK Press is an independent book publishing company founded in 2016. Motivated by the stories left untold, VK Press delivers the innermost narratives of aspiring authors.

By 2018, VK Press wanted to distinguish itself as a reputable publishing house. To do so, VKS Collective implemented a campaign that would capture the essence of the writing process through classic visuals.

In an article by the Paris Review, Dr. Maya Angelou shared that she rented hotel rooms solely for the purpose of writing. This article and 1950’s Black Hollywood informed the visuals.
